An approach to filmmaking and photography rooted in cinéma vérité, where each film and image is intentionally made to display truth, beauty, and artistry.

I’ve traveled countries like Austria, Romania, Ukraine, Iceland, and Germany. My desire is to create documentaries and content that further the Gospel, especially through ministries rooted in the local church. Since 2017 my work has also crossed into the sphere of branding and content for businesses.

(Key-are-oh) Chiaro Films is named after a painting technique that was birthed during the Renaissance called chiaroscuro. It’s an Italian word meaning “light-dark” or “clear-obscure”, and was used by famous artists such as Caravaggio, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. The technique has continued on through the years into photography and cinematography. It’s a visual style that I am drawn to and one of the primary inspirations behind the look of my filmmaking and photography.

“For the enjoyment of the artist the mask must be to some extent moulded on the face. What he makes outside himself must correspond to something inside him; he can only make his effects out of some of the materials of his soul.”
